Zur Trockenzeit konzentrieren sich die Wildbeobachtungen auf die in der Savute- Region ansaessigen Elefantenbullen, Antilopen und Loewenrudel. Abends lassen sich im Licht des Sonnenuntergangs Scharen von Marabus auf den kahlen Baeumen zum Schlaf nieder.

Camp Okavango ist der perfekte Ausgangspunkt, um das Okavango Delta zu erkunden. Exkursionen in Mokoro-Einbaeumen sind leise und die beste Methode, die scheue Sitatunga- Antilope sowie viele im Delta beheimatete Vogelarten anzutreffen.

Es gibt Tiere in Huelle und Fuelle und in einer grossen Artenvielfalt. Die Zahl der Elefanten wird auf mehr als 45 000 geschaetzt. In keinem anderen Nationalpark in Afrika findet man eine so hohe Dichte von Elefanten vor.
